Panel to Speak About Media and Iraq
Three prominent journalists will address “The Media and Iraq: What Went Wrong?” in a panel discussion at Occidental College on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m.
The event held in the Johnson Student Center’s Morrison Lounge is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow.
The panel, moderated by Steve Wasserman, editor of the Los Angeles Times Book Review, will feature:
Mark Danner, staff writer at the New Yorker, frequent contributor to the New York Review of Books, and professor of journalism at UC Berkeley. He is the author of Torture and Truth: America, Abu Ghraib and the War on Terror.
Michael Massing, a contributing editor of the Columbia Journalism Review and frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books and other publications. He is author of Now They Tell Us: The American Press and Iraq.
Robert B. Silvers, co-editor of the New York Review of Books.
The panel is presented by The New York Review of Books, the Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities, and Occidental College. Occidental is located at 1600 Campus Road in Eagle Rock. Parking is free.
