Jonathan Stith, a founding member and national coordinator for the Alliance for Educational Justice, will speak on "Youth Organizing for School Discipline Reform."
Stith has over 20 years of experience working with youth and community organizations to address social inequities. As the former Executive Director of the Youth Education Alliance (YEA), he and YEA students led the School Modernization Campaign that won $3.2 billion to renovate every school in the District of Columbia. He also served as a steering committee member of the Justice for DC Youth Coalition that successfully organized youth and their families to win the closure of the city’s youth jail. Stith is the first generation of Bolder and a member of the Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity Teaching Team. He also is a father of three young adults who taught him everything he knows.
