Student Schedule*

Families are welcome to attend orientation and will follow a separate schedule from their student. For more information on the family schedule, contact Peter Indall, Assistant Director of Annual Giving at pindall@oxy.edu or 323-259-2567.

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

ID Photos (ID Card Office, Iron Man Room, Johnson Student Center)
Get your picture ID taken. Smile!

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Residence Hall Move-In (Rangeview Hall)
Check in to your assigned residence hall to drop off your belongings. You will be able to arrange and settle into your room at the end of the day. NOTE: Get your student ID first, as that will be your room key!

Orientation Check-In (Branca Patio, Johnson Student Center)
Check in, receive your Orientation bag, and meet the Orientation Team. They are available to answer questions, take you on a campus tour, and be your point person throughout the weekend and beyond!

Mailroom Boxes (Mailroom, Johnson Student Center)
The mailroom will confirm your box number.

11:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Welcome to Occidental College! (Green Bean Coffee Lounge, Johnson Student Center)
We are excited to have you as a member of the Oxy community! Presented by Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Dr. Barbara Avery. You will also meet other administrators who have played a role in your admission to the College and will be key resources during your transition to Oxy.

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Academic Advising, Class Registration, and Lunch (Salsbury/Young Room, Johnson Student Center)
During lunch, you will meet your academic advisor and begin selecting your classes for spring semester, followed by class registration.

2:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Matriculation (President's Office, AGC Administrative Center)
This is your opportunity to meet President Veitch and for him to learn a little about you. You also sign the official Oxy register. Don't miss this important Oxy tradition!

2:30 - 3:00 p.m.

Campus Tour (Meet by Bookstore, Johnson Student Center)
There are many departments on campus that will help you transtition smoothly. Learn who they are and the services they provide on this comprehensive campus tour. Visit offices such as Emmons Health Center, Office of Student Life, Dean of Students Office, Intercultural Community Center, Academic Commons, Campus Safety, and more!

6:00 p.m.

Dinner with O-Team
Hang out with O-Team at this fun, off-campus social!
