Update from Co-Chairs: Vice President and Dean of the College Search
Dear Campus Community,
We write in our capacity as co-chairs of the VP for Academic Affairs & Dean of the College search committee, to update you on the start-up phase of the search and plans for the second phase of recruitment. Below you will find a timeline of all events to date that have informed the start-up phase of the search as well as the development of the Leadership Profile and Position Description, which the committee completed on May 31. Once Witt/Kieffer, the search firm retained to assist with the search, finishes the final formatting for this document, we will share it with you and make a formal call for candidate nominations.
Moving forward into the recruitment phase, Witt/Kiefer will work on active candidate recruiting, screening, and interviewing over the next three months. In mid-to-late July we will discuss the progress of the recruitment and diversity of the candidate pool with Witt/Kiefer and provide an update to the campus community. Over the summer we will also develop a more in-depth online survey for the campus community, which will be available online from August 15-September 1. The data from this survey, as well as early fall semester on-campus forums with all constituencies, will inform the selection of semi-finalists. At the beginning of the fall semester we will share our fall search schedule and more details about the interviewing and on-campus phases of the search.
We look forward to discussion about search issues, including institutional priorities, concerns, opportunities, and key leadership qualities to look for in our next VP for Academic Affairs & Dean of the College.
