How to Report

We encourage survivors of sexual assault and members of our community to report sexual misconduct. Reporting options are not mutually exclusive. Both internal and criminal reports may be pursued simultaneously. Survivors are encouraged to select a friend or family member who can support them throughout this process. 

On-Campus Reporting Options

Anonymous Reporting

Where do I report?
Students interested in anonymously reporting an incident of sexual assault with the College may complete the Anonymous Reporting Form.

What happens?
The report is sent to the Title IX Coordinator in the Dean of Students Office and an associate. These administrators will make note of the information, and may follow up via methods such as targeted educational efforts in a certain area or campus group. Additionally, the College is required to collect and include this information in the Clery report, which displays the number of specific types of incidents that occurred on or near the campus for each calendar year. Names of people filing a report are not collected in the Anonymous Reporting form or attached to the Clery report.

What happens?
The on-campus sexual misconduct reporting process, overseen by the Dean of Students Office, involves an immediate initial investigation to determine if there is reasonable cause to believe the sexual misconduct policy has been violated. If so, the College will initiate a prompt, thorough and impartial investigation. This investigation is designed to provide a fair and reliable determination about whether the College sexual misconduct policy has been violated. If so, the College will implement a prompt and effective remedy designed to end the misconduct, prevent its recurrence and address its effects.

You have the right and can expect to have incidents of sexual misconduct to be taken seriously by the institution when formally reported, and to have those incidents investigated and properly resolved through administrative procedures. Formal reporting means that only people who need to know will be told, and information will be shared only as necessary with investigators, witnesses, and the accused individual.

Off-campus Reporting Options

Consider contacting a trained advocate

It may be helpful for survivors to have someone who can help them explore their off-campus options and guide them through legal processes; an advocate can provide assistance in this area. Two local resources, Peace Over Violence and the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center offer advocacy support. Peace Over Violence case managers "can provide assistance and support with the medical and criminal legal process as well as accompaniment to hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and court appointments."
