Students are responsible for knowing the following:

Occidental College supports freedom of academic inquiry into social, political, and religious issues by registered student organizations. This freedom includes the right of such organizations to invite qualified speakers to the campus. Such invitations are extended only on behalf of the organization(s) concerned, and do not in any sense imply sponsorship or advocacy by the College. Sponsoring organizations must follow the Campus Events Coordinated by Students Policy and the Political Activity and Use of College Facilities, and be present during the duration of all speeches. Speakers may be subject to time, manner and place restrictions.

All speakers must have appropriate contracts and waivers filed with the appropriate academic or administrative office. Student clubs and organizations must work with the office of Student Leadership, Involvement, & Community Engagement.
