Want to know what to expect from your ELP experience? Here's the breakdown.
A week or so before the retreat, we will get together as a group. This is a chance to introduce ourselves to each other, go over the logistics for the weekend, and answer any questions. It's a low intensity meeting, but mandatory for those wanting to attend the retreat.
The Retreat Weekend (October 6 & 7, 2012)
Departure & Return
We will be departing from the fountain on Alumni Avenue at 9am sharp. Please arrive on time having already eaten breakfast. We will not have breakfast available. It takes about an hour to get to Valley Trails, so we'll be in the van for a little while. On Sunday we'll return to campus between 4pm and 5pm. This will give you plenty of time to finish up your homework before class on Monday.
Camp Facilities & Grounds
Valley Trails is a rustic camp located just north of Los Angeles. You will be sleeping in bunk beds in a cabin with electricity. The bathroom and shower facilities are located in a different building. We will have all our meals in the camp dining room prepared by their staff.
As part of our stay, we may have the opportunity to hike and spend time by a campfire. We will also be doing some physical initiatives outside. Make sure you are prepared.
To help you get ready, check out the Packing list.
ELP continues even after we get back to campus. The group will continue to meet once a week for follow up sessions to add on to what you learned at the retreat. These sessions will run up to Thanksgiving Break with the last session being group presentations.
