Want to know what to expect from your ELP experience? Here's the breakdown.
Pre-Retreat Gathering (September 22, 6 pm)
A week or so before the retreat, we will get together as a group. This is a chance to introduce ourselves to each other, go over the logistics for the weekend, and answer any questions. It's a low intensity meeting, but mandatory for those wanting to attend the retreat.
The Retreat Weekend (September 27 & 28)
Departure & Return
We will be departing from the Booth Parking Lot at 8am sharp on Saturday, September 27; please arrive on time. We will have some breakfast foods available. It takes about an hour and a half to get to Idyllwild Pines Camp; so, we'll be in the van for a little while. On Sunday we'll return to campus by 5pm. This will give you plenty of time to finish up your homework before class on Monday.
Camp Facilities & Grounds
Idyllwild is a rustic camp located east of Los Angeles. You will be sleeping in bunk beds in a cabin with electricity. The bathroom and shower facilities are located in a different building. We will have all our meals in the camp dining room prepared by their staff.
As part of our stay, we may have the opportunity to hike and spend time by a campfire. We will also be doing some physical initiatives outside. Make sure you are prepared.
Follow-Up Sessions (Mondays, 6 - 7:30 pm)
ELP continues after we get back to campus. The group will continue to meet once a week for follow up sessions to add on to what you learned at the retreat. These sessions will run up to Thanksgiving Break with the last session being group presentations. This year's sessions will be on Mondays from 6 - 7:30 pm on October 6, October 20, October 27, November 3, and November 10.
