The Rhodes Scholarships, established in 1904, bring outstanding students from many countries to the University of Oxford. Thirty-two American Rhodes Scholars are selected each year. Cullen Taniguchi ’98 was our latest Rhodes Scholar.
The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program awards scholarships to sophomores and juniors pursuing careers in science, mathematics and engineering. One- and two-year scholarships up to $7,550 are awarded each year. Jeffrey Cannon '07 and James Gillan '08 are our latest Goldwater winners.
At least 40 Marshall Scholarships are awarded each year for study at the graduate (and occasionally undergraduate) level in England in any discipline. The two-year scholarships cover university fees, living expenses, and other costs. Patrick Dixon '06 is our latest Marshall Scholar.
The Truman Scholarship is a $26,000 prize awarded to college juniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and plan to use those skills in public service careers. Jennifer Kyle '06 is our latest Truman Scholar.
The Thomas J. Watson Fellowships are one-year, $22,000 grants for independent study and travel outside the United States awarded to graduating seniors at one of 50 participating colleges or universities. Alexander Hartman ’01 was our most recent Watson Fellow.
