Alumni Computer User Policy

PPP accounts.

Students who graduate or otherwise end their student career here may keep existing PPP accounts for 6 months after graduation. New PPP accounts will NOT be granted to new graduates if they did not have one as a student.

Email accounts.

Current Alumni who have an active email account may keep their ACCOUNT for as long as they wish. This policy may be changed in the future if it becomes more expensive to the College than the benefit is worth to alumni.

Web pages.

Students who graduate or otherwise end their career here may keep their web pages on our server for 6 months after graduation.

Email forwarding accounts.

It is the intention of the College to allow alumni to have an Occidental College email address forever. This "address" will stay with an alum forever and allow other alums to keep in touch. The address is not an account – that is, the College is not "serving" email for the alum, rather the address is a forwarding address which serves as an alias. When email is sent to the alias, it automatically gets forwarded to the correct Alum. This forwarding address will, in the future, be accessed and updated by the alum via the web.
