Nutrition & Wellness
Nutrition counseling and education services are offered free to Oxy students. Registered Dietitian Nancy M. Neff, RD is available by appointment to meet with individuals or groups.
If you have questions or concerns about any nutrition issue, you may contact Nancy directly or call the Campus Dining Office at (323) 259-2629 to set up an appointment. Topics may include balancing a vegetarian diet, food intolerance or allergies, weight loss, gain or maintenance, or health issues, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, eating disorders or anemia.
Do you have a food allergy, and want help making food choices in the dining facilities? Contact Judy Runyon, Associate Director of Campus Dining, for e-mail consultation on menu ingredients. If your diet is Gluten-Free see the guide (left).
Special Diets: Campus Dining's staff of trained chefs can accommodate special diets in the case of medical need. Contact Associate Vice President Amy Muñoz.
VEGETARIAN & VEGAN SELECTIONS
- All stations at the Marketplace and Tiger Cooler feature vegetarian selections, marked (vl) - lacto-ovo vegetarian or (v) - vegan.
- The Homestyle station in the Marketplace offers a vegan entree at every lunch and dinner.
ORGANIC & LOCAL FOODS
- Organic & local selections of fresh produce in the Marketplace change daily; please see posted signs. The salad bar always carries organic choices including organic spring mix lettuce, tofu and carrots. We often incorporate organic & local ingredients into our scratch cooking.
- The Marketplace grill offers organic breast of chicken, brown rice and French fries.
- Wednesdays at dinner the Marketplace serves an Organic Baked Potato Bar, including russet and sweet potatoes, with all organic toppings and produce from local farmers.
- Thursdays at dinner in the Marketplace, come enjoy a complete dinner of organic selections (meat and vegetarian).
- Look for assorted varieties of organic juice, Horizon organic milk and Wallaby organic yogurt in the Marketplace merchandising refrigerator.
- The Marketplace carries a selection of Amy's frozen microwavable organic vegetarian items.
- The Marketplace & Coffee Cart serve organic, fair trade & shade grown coffee. All facilities carry organic tea.
- The Marketplace features Oliver's Artisans Breads, made locally from all natural ingredients.
- The Cooler features hand-dipped ice cream made by Fosselman's, a local family owned business.
- The Cooler carries Stoneyfield Farms Organic Yogurt & Smoothies and local sushi from California Sushi Kitchen.
- The Coffee Cart features sandwiches, salads and desserts from Auntie Em's, made with local and organic ingredients.
- Look for a wide variety of organic snack and bulk items in all facilities.
