Sexual Assault Policy

Occidental College is committed to maintaining a learning, living, and working environment free of sexual assault. “Sexual assault” is defined by the Education Code Section 94385 as including rape, forced sodomy, forced oral copulation, rape by a foreign object, sexual battery or threat of sexual assault. Sexual assault will not be tolerated.

The Sexual Assault Policy describes the College’s policy toward sexual assault and zero tolerance policy towards rape. It also provides guidance for survivors of sexual assault, outlines the College’s disciplinary response to alleged incidents of sexual assault, and identifies the relevant organizations within the College responsible for managing the policy and programs associated with it.  Occidental’s policy complies with relevant state and federal statutes.

The complete Sexual Assault Policy is available here, in the Administrator and Staff Handbook and in the Student Handbook.
