Whistle Alert Program

In 1991, the Whistle Alert Program was established at Occidental College. All entering students receive whistles in the fall and spring. Administrators, faculty and staff receive whistles upon request. Participants are urged to put a whistle on their key chain and carry it with them wherever they go. By carrying a whistle and agreeing to use the whistle only in cases of emergency and to report the sound of a blown whistle to the Campus Safety emergency line (323-259-2511) participants of the Campus Safety Whistle Alert Program join in partnership to support a safer campus.
