Selecting the right college can be difficult. We also realize that managing the rising cost of education, particularly at a private college, is a challenge for many families. The Financial Aid Office is committed to making Occidental an affordable experience for you and your family. We are delighted to take this opportunity to share with you some important information on our financial aid programs.

Occidental has a long history of enrolling qualified students from a wide range of economic backgrounds. Last year, over 75% of Occidental students received some form of assistance; students from families with limited resources received a substantial amount of financial support. Occidental enrolls more Federal Pell Grant recipients than most nationally ranked liberal arts colleges.

We encourage all students who are interested in attending Occidental to apply for financial aid, regardless of family financial circumstances and/or ability to meet college costs.
