Cost of Attendance
While quality does not come cheaply, we are firmly committed to making an Oxy education affordable.
- Almost three-quarters of our students receive financial aid through scholarships, work-study, and student loans.
- The average amount of financial aid awarded during the 2006-2007 academic year was $30,753 per student.
- Each year, we award 12 different types of merit scholarships ranging from $2,000 annually to full coverage of tuition, room and board.
- We enroll more low-income students than any other nationally ranked liberal arts college.
- Roughly 17 percent of each first-year class is made up of students who are the first person in their family to attend college.
All qualified students interested in attending Occidental should apply for admission and financial aid, regardless of family financial circumstances or ability to meet college costs. Our scholarship programs often make our costs comparable to those of public institutions.
