“Once an Oxy Parent, Always an Oxy Parent.”

Welcome to Occidental College! As an Oxy parent, you automatically are a member of the Parents Association. The Association’s goal is to make the Occidental experience for you and your student the best it possibly can be. We are focused on engaging Oxy parents with useful programs that mirror the mission and goals of the College.

We offer a variety of opportunities to volunteer and get involved: fundraising, career mentoring, Orientation and Move-In Day, Homecoming and Family Weekend, and presidential receptions across the country. Even if you live outside of Los Angeles, you can be an active participant in the Oxy community.

Working with the Occidental Office of Annual Giving, our Parents Association Council is a group of dedicated volunteers who plan and carry out our programs and activities. As co-presidents, we look forward to getting to know each of you. Our son Mark is a sophomore who has been working in Professor Don Deardorff’s chemistry lab since last fall. The ability to work one-on-one with Don as well as with upperclassmen has played a key role in shaping Mark’s sense of the Oxy community.

We are proud to represent Occidental and are eager to share our enthusiasm with you. To learn more about getting involved, please e-mail us at pachair@oxy.edu or contact our staff member, Associate Director of Annual Giving Susan Lee, at susanlee@oxy.edu.

Io Triumphe and Go Tigers!

Sincerely,

Tom and Tricia Paulsen
