Economics

The scope of economics at Occidental is broadly defined: examination of the roles of consumer, business, and governments in a market system; investigation of problems such as unemployment, inflation, and growth; analysis of pressing social problems such as pollution, poverty, racial, and sexual discrimination; study of the international economy, trade systems, and the distribution of wealth between rich and poor countries.
