Mathematics

Study and problem-solving in mathematics provide a paradigm of critical thinking which serves the diverse needs of students in the physical sciences, social sciences, and the liberal arts, as well as mathematics. Students are prepared for careers in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, education, actuarial science, computer science or engineering. Upon graduation some mathematics majors go on to graduate or professional schools while others begin careers in teaching, business, industry or government.
