If you are faced with a medical emergency, you should dial 911:
- DIAL 911
If you call 911 you will be transported in an ambulance by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics to either Huntington Memorial Hospital or Glendale Adventist Medical Center. - Then, CALL Campus Safety (ext "2599" or, 323-259-2599) so that they can meet the paramedics at the fountain and escort them to you. You will be responsible for the cost of the ambulance. Most insurances, including the school insurance, will cover this. If you are admitted to the hospital call your insurance company as soon as possible.
What Conditions Require a Visit to the Emergency Room?
A true medical emergency is the sudden and unexpected onset of a condition in which delay in treatment would endanger your health or life. Some examples are difficulty breathing, broken bones, excessive bleeding, suspected heart attack, unconsciousness, severe burns, car accident, back or neck injury, severe allergic reaction involving respiratory distress, drug overdose, mental distress, shock, and severe stomach pain.
