"Some of my most meaningful involvements on campus have been through dance. I was lucky to make the Oxy Dance Team my first year and have become part of a very close and loving family. We have done halftime shows, philanthropy events, and competed at the regional and national level (placing as high as 13th nationally for jazz and 16th nationally for hip hop). Being involved in Dance Production has been an absolute joy and it is an event that I look forward to every year. What makes Dance Production special is that it mixes people who have been dancing since they could stand with people who have never taken a dance class in their life to create a show that is a huge celebration of dance. It is no wonder that Dance Production is both the biggest student run organization on campus and the most well attended event of the year!"

"One of the best ways to learn by doing is through studying abroad. I absolutely love learning about people of different cultures; experiencing another culture firsthand and immersing myself in the customs, traditions, and languages of other countries through meeting local people is so fun and eye opening. While at Oxy I have been lucky enough to study abroad twice-once in London as a Fulbright Summer Institute participant in the summer of 2010 and once in Japan through the International Programs Office at Oxy in the spring of 2011. Although I was only in Japan for a little under two weeks (my program was cut short due to the earthquake and tsunami), my Japanese language skills definitely improved and I learned so much about the country. Studying abroad has definitely been a highlight of my Oxy career!"
