Sustainable Oxy

Sustainable Oxy works to make Occidental College a more environmentally sustainable place.

Students have led many of the programs and projects that contribute to a greener campus and greater environmental awareness. Occidental students were early supporters of solar power at Oxy and students taxed themselves to create a renewable energy and sustainability fund that pays for many environmental programs, including the student led bike share program and FEAST garden.  UEPI has supported these initiatives through UEP's long-running environmental stewardship class and by collaborations on campus. Occidental recently hired its first Sustainability Coordinator (a UEP alum!) to help coordinate and advance campus greening goals. Contact Mark Vallianatos for more information.
