The Barry Goldwater Scholarship offers undergraduate funding to support sophomores and juniors studying natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics who show promise as future research leaders.
Eligibility:
In order to apply, an applicant must:
- be enrolled as a sophomore or junior
- intend to pursue a research career in the natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics
- have a GPA of at least 3.0
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Oxy application process:
Oxy may nominate up to four candidates for the Goldwater Scholarship. Applicants submit applications in the fall--look for emails in September about how to submit the pre-application.
