Deena Selenow is a director for live performance. 

Her interests are rooted in the cultivation of new live storytelling experiences that reframe how we (artists, institutions, audience) understand social identity in America. Her work has been presented by institutions including REDCAT, East West Players, LATC/Watts Village Theater, La Jolla Playhouse WoW Festival/Chalk Rep, The Fountain Theatre, IAMA Theatre, Ammunition Theater, Skirball Cultural Center, Hammer Museum, LA LGBT Center, Highways Performance Space, Machine Project, The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, PRELUDE Festival, among others. She was the recipient of the 2006 Baryshnikov Art Center Multi-Disciplinary Artist Fellowship, the 2009/10 New York Theatre Workshop Emerging Artist Directing Fellowship, and was a participant in the 2013 Walt Disney Imagineering/CalArts Educational Initiative. Deena is an inaugural member of the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) SPARK Leadership Cohort, a member of the inaugural TCG Programming Council (2017-18), and is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. She has taught at Dartmouth College, Pomona College, CalArts, New York Film Academy-Los Angeles, and is the former Director of Oxy Arts at Occidental College. She received her BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and her MFA in Directing from the California Institute of the Arts.
