Aside from being a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Critical Theory and Social Justice Department at Occidental, Justin de Leon is a Senior Advisor to the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies’ Mediation Program at the University of Notre Dame and a Research Justice at the Intersections Fellow at Mills College.  His research and praxis focus is on Indigenous sovereignty and storytelling and is currently completing a book manuscript entitled Resurgent Visual Sovereignty (University of Nebraska). Recent publications include “The In-Between Space: Indigenous Sovereignties in Creative and Comparative Perspective” (with Matthew Wildcat) and “Preserving Values: Militarization and Powwows.
