Perry Daniel will teach acting in Spring 2019

A professional actor, Perry Daniel currently teaches at Occidental College (Acting) and UCLA (Acting, Puppetry, Arts Education). Favorite past roles are Arlecchino in Il Sogno d'Arlecchino, Valentina from Goldoni's The Housekeeper, Cyllene in the Getty Villa's production of The Trackers, and touring with Clowns Without Borders South Africa. As an instructor, previous workshops have included vocal and physical preparation for the actor, puppetry, mask, improv, Commedia dell’arte and directing devised works. Her journey as a teaching artist began with The 52nd Street Project, a non-profit theater company dedicated to the youth of NYC. Perry wrote and directed Tall Tales at the Geffen Playhouse, followed by a two month tour of LAUSD elementary schools. At UCLA, Perry is the Co-Creative Director of the Department of Theater’s Pre-college Acting and Performance Summer Institute as well as Program Director of ArtsBridge, their LAUSD partnered teaching artist undergraduate program. Perry has written for Nick Jr.'s The Wonder Pets, and is a member of Sacred Fools Theater, the LA Guild of Puppetry, and frequent contributor to the Imagination Academy at The Bob Baker Marionette Theater.
