Shawn Costantino is well into his second decade as the Director of Jazz Studies and Instrumental Music at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, where he oversees a diverse curriculum of 3 big bands, 6 small combos, an intermediate jazz rhythm section class, and a wind ensemble. Additionally, he was recently appointed as the chair of the upper school performing arts program. Mr. Costantino is also on the faculty at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, CA where he directs the jazz ensemble, jazz quintet, and teaches jazz improvisation and is the jazz saxophone professor.
Shawn received his Master’s in Music from DePaul University in Chicago and his Bachelor’s in Music from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami with additional Doctoral studies at The University of Northern Colorado. His debut jazz release, Waltz for Anne, has enjoyed critical success worldwide. Shawn is a Yamaha artist and plays the Yamaha Custom Z alto and tenor saxophones exclusively.
