Video & Video Conferencing Tools

Zoom is an online video conference, meeting, and webinar platform.

For the Fall 2020 semester, Occidental faculty and students can use Zoom to create and attend meetings as well as record the meeting’s content for download and future reference. Staff who create Zoom Basic accounts with an Oxy email can host conferences without the usual 40-minute limit on a temporary basis.

For Faculty and Students, go to, click “Sign In” in the upper-right hand corner of the page and log in with your Oxy username and password.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

To access the Occidental College network and on-campus resources from anywhere in the world.

For students: What if course content is blocked by local internet restrictions?
You may find that access to certain services or resources are blocked in your country. In that case, a VPN may help lift such restrictions. If you do not have one, you can request access to Oxy's by emailing Please note that the use of VPNs may also be restricted in your country, so please review applicable laws before proceeding.
