Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition

The winner will perform as a featured soloist with the Occidental Symphony Orchestra in Thorne Hall on April 27, 2019.

Rules

1. Must be enrolled in Music 130 and participating in Symphony Orchestra for the semester of the concerto performance.
2. Concerto must be composed between 1600 and 1820.
3. Complete concerto not required (1 or 2 movements may be allowed).
4. Orchestral parts must be available for purchase.
5. Memorization not required.
6. Winner may be required to perform the concerto more than once in different locations and with different conductors.
7. Winner might be featured with other soloists during the concert.
8. No concerto substitution allowed.
9. Application Deadline: October 31, 2018
10. Competition will take place Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:30 AM.
