To the Occidental Community:

The 2016 Annual Fire Safety and Security Report for Occidental College (also known as the Clery Report) is now available: download the 2016 AFSSR. If you would like a hard copy of the report, please contact Victor Clay, Chief of Campus Safety, at vclay@oxy.edu.

This report is required by the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, as amended (the “Clery Act"), and contains detailed information on campus safety, security, and emergency response policies and procedures. It also contains crime and fire safety statistics for the 2015 calendar year (January-December) and the two previous calendar years (2013 and 2014).

Crime statistics cover certain categories of crimes specified in the Clery Act that occurred in Occidental’s Clery reporting area, which is defined as: the Occidental campus; public property immediately adjacent to campus; off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the College that are used for educational purposes; and property controlled by organizations recognized by the College (such as Greek houses). Fire safety statistics cover all College-owned student housing. As in previous years, maps of the Clery reporting areas are included in the report for your reference.
