Community Update on Redesign

Progress continues on the website redesign.

We've been making ground at a steady pace thanks to our collaborations with stakeholders across campus (you know who you are!) as well as our vendor. We are now in the final phase of the redesign and will be sharing the final product with everyone soon. There are a number of new features that we think the Oxy community will be excited about.

Right now, the web team is focused on page content cleanup and testing in the new development environment, where all the current web content was migrated last month. Content cleanup means adding all new, larger images, revising structure and menus per our discussions with departments and offices, updating and revising existing page copy, and making sure everything will look as good as possible when the redesigned website launches in January.

All the academic department homepages are also being updated with useful new content including featured courses, featured facutly, alumni outcomes, and department-specific news and events feeds. We're planning for a smooth transition to the new, and there has been a lot of behind-the-scenes work to move us forward.

Here are some screenshots to highlight some of the features on the new site:

  • Our new, simplified navigation menu and a quicklinks dropdown menu (links not set in stone) to get you exactly where you want to go most, right from the homepage:

  • Right from the homepage, students can view this academic dropdown menu that takes them directly to department websites:
