Emma Burrows
Senior Fellow

Emma is an Economics major and Politics minor from El Dorado Hills, California. On campus, Emma serves on the executive board for Oxy’s Multicultural Club, and was the Scholarship Director for Kappa Alpha Theta. During her time at Occidental, Emma has been able to pursue her interest in the political process by serving as campaign intern for Gavin Newsom’s gubernatorial campaign, and more recently as a campaign fellow for her local congressional race. Emma has also pursued her passion for representation in media through her research position in Oxy’s Politics department, as well as her current position as a researcher for the Geena Davis Institute on Gender and Media. In the spring of her junior year, Emma studied the politics and economics of the European Union while living in Germany. Her time at Occidental has prompted her pursue a career in public policy or law in order to address the concerns of Native Hawaiian people. In her free time, Emma enjoys cooking, exploring California’s coast, camping, and trying all of the amazing food LA has to offer.
