Campus Dining is committed to integrating sustainability into all facets of the organization. Oxy is strategically located within range of local sources of organic and conventional produce, in addition to many small, family owned businesses that incorporate sustainable practices. We continuously endeavor to replace old sources, products and practices with new and better alternatives that benefit the environment and your dining experience. From our successful integrated waste management program, to a student group interested in growing produce on campus, at Oxy’s Own Dining Services we are dedicated to exploring every option available for the integration of sustainability.
Signs in the Marketplace, at the salad bar and various stations, will alert you to this week’s local and organic produce. Sustainable options are also used in preparing many of our soups, deli salads, specialty stations, and Homestyle options. Composting and recycling bins can be found at various locations throughout the Johnson Student Center. Check out our featured weekly highlight, also posted at the Marketplace entrance.
