Walking around campus you might not readily get the feel that Oxy could be a great concert venue. In the past couple of years though we've played host to Gym Class Heroes, Ra Ra Riot, Mayer Hawthorne and the County, Nas, Snoop Dogg, and Common at intimate shows in Sycamore Glen to larger thumping concerts in the Greek Bowl.

Some of our most popular events are our monthly Taste-Offs where we feature one type of food from various local eateries and choose "Oxy's favorite." Some of our past Taste-Offs have featured cannolis, donuts, horchata, peach cobbler, and more.

Express your creativity through one of our annual Chalk Art Competitions, rapidly becoming one of the most fun ways to decorate the Quad.

Oxy has a thriving fraternity and sorority community with 4 sororities, 2 fraternities, and 1 co-ed organization for you to choose from. Find the one that is right for you through infromal recruitment in the fall (for sophomores, juniors, and seniors) or through the larger formal recruitment in the spring (for all Oxy students).

You have the chance to run your own department at Oxy. Whether you are an aspiring journalist like these editors from The Oxy Weekly or television personality, or if you want to put on big campus programs or run your own business, there are so many opporunities for you.

Early in fall semester over 100 organizations and departments set up on the quad to let everyone know what they are up to for the semester. It's a great way for new students to find the organizations that interest them, and returners network and reconnect with friends.
