Resources for Students
Here's some general information you might find useful.
Petition for Transfer Credit
Petitions to transfer a course or get credit for a course taken elsewhere should be dropped off with Jan Garcia in HSC 222 between 8 a.m.-12 noon and 1-3 p.m. daily. Please include paper copies (not web links) of course descriptions, syllabus, or any other documents that help show why this course should transfer to Occidental.
Unsupported petitions will not be reviewed.
Reviewed petitions and supporting materials may be picked up two days after submission.
FYI: If a course transfers as a science class to the University of California system, it is likely to count for a general science requirement here. Attach documentation of this status to your petition.
Need Keys?
Declared geology majors who would like to obtain keys to Hameetman and geology classrooms can contact Jan Garcia in HSC 222 from 8 a.m.-12 noon and 1-3 p.m. daily.
Become an Approved Driver
During your time as a geology major you will go on numerous fieldtrips. Becoming an authorized driver of College vehicles is extremely helpful to the department on occasions when more than one van is required, and it's really easy to do. For instructions on how to get authorized, please go to the Facilities Management page and look at Authorized Driver Procedures.
