Peer Health Educator

She/Her/Hers

Class of 2024

What does well-being mean to you?

Well-being to me encompasses physical health, mental wellness, and social connections where they work with one another to maintain a balanced life.

What drew you to becoming a Peer Health Educator?

I chose to become a peer health educator to be a support for those who may share marginalized identities with me. As a first-generation queer Latina looking into becoming a future therapist, I am well aware of the lack of support that marginalized identities face in predominantly white institutions. As a peer health educator, I hope to create an environment of care in which students of all identities feel comfortable enough to reach out to me to chat or to help connect them to any wellness services they need.

What’s your favorite thing about Oxy?

My favorite thing about Oxy is its small size since I feel like I am able to make connections with so many amazing people.
