Excellence Recognized

A student can receive College Honors in the Department of Theater if they are a Theater major with a 3.50 grade point average in departmental courses. In addition the student will have achieved a 3.25 grade point average overall, and received a grade of Pass with Distinction on the senior comprehensive project. See the Honors Program for additional information.

The Theater Department recognizes excellence with two awards given annually:

The Jack Bell Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement is given to the student or students (at any class rank) in recognition of creative work of superior quality.

The Marion Schumacher Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Department of Theater is given to the senior or seniors whose sustained contribution to the Theater Department is of exceptional worth.

The students recognized by these awards are announced at the end of the spring semester and their names are added to placques mounted in the Keck Theater Front Lobby.
