Woody Studenmund's primary professional interests are reflected in his textbook, Using Econometrics. The book, currently in its seventh edition, is one of the top selling elementary econometrics texts at liberal arts colleges.

Studenmund has served the College in a variety of administrative positions, including vice president for student services and dean of admission and financial aid. He has taught applied econometrics and managerial economics. Studenmund has received the Loftsgordon Award for excellence in teaching, the Io Triumphe Award for contributions to Occidental's spirit of community, and the Janosik Award for service to the College.
