Students are responsible for knowing the following:

A community kitchen is provided in most halls for residents to use for the preparation of snacks, hot beverages or reheating. Kitchens should not be used for the preparation of daily meals.  REHS does not supply the kitchens with any items for cooking or cleaning.  Residents are asked to clean up after themselves as a courtesy to other residents.

All refrigerated food needs to be clearly contained and labeled with the name of the owner.  Refrigerated food improperly stored will be removed. Students take full responsibility for storing personal items in the kitchen, and REHS will not be responsible for the reimbursement of any items that are discarded or removed.

Stoves and ovens must not be left unattended while in use.

If resident's fail to clean up after use it is at the discretion of the hall staff to lock the kitchen. The fee for cleaning will be assigned to the person(s) responsible for not cleaning. If the identity of the person(s) responsible cannot be determined, the cleaning fee will be divided among all the residents living in the space.
