Incoming first-years move in and are welcomed to Oxy during Orientation.

For Parents

For Parents

Getting into college (and what’s beyond) can seem overwhelming—especially for parents. We’re here to reassure you.

You’ve been a huge part of your child’s journey and supportive in countless ways. While it’s ultimately up to him or her to take ownership of the college process, getting into and affording college may be sources of worry for the whole family.

Feel free to reach out—admission and financial aid officers are always happy to chat with parents and families.

Another step is understanding the value of an Oxy education. With over 125 years of experience in the liberal arts and sciences, we have a lot of skills* to share with our students—plus mentors ready to give them professional and academic advice. All of which prepares our alums to go on to lead successful, meaningful, interesting, and unlikely lives.

There’s a ton of information about colleges out there, but nothing beats seeing the campus in person, so we’d love to host your family if you are able to plan a visit.
