Re-applying for Aid
Save the date! March 2nd is our annual deadline to re-apply for financial aid.
Students must re-apply for financial aid by our deadlines in order to be considered on time. Students who apply late risk not receiving institutional financial aid. The financial aid deadlines for the 2016-2017 academic year have passed. If you require financial assistance for 2016-2017, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
Follow our four-step process to complete your 2017-2018 aid application and make sure to read about the changes for 2017-2018 with Prior-Prior Year.
The 2017-2018 FAFSA will be available starting October 1, 2016. Your FAFSA is partially completed from the information you submitted last year. Review and update your information, then sign and submit your FAFSA. Make sure to list Oxy, federal school code #001249.
The 2017-2018 Student Supplement will be available by late January. Complete this online application through your myOxy web portal, it only takes a few minutes. If you are returning after a leave of absence, please contact the Financial Aid Office for a paper version of this application.
The 2017-2018 Parent Supplement will be available by late January. Have your custodial parent(s) download and complete the Parent Supplement, then submit it to our office by mail, fax, or e-mail.
Submit copies of 2015 parent(s) and student taxes and W-2s. If you applied for and received financial aid this academic year (2016-2017) you do not need to resubmit copies of your 2015 tax documents.
What Happens Next?
Once your file is complete, we will review the information you provided. If anything else is required after we review your file, we will notify you via e-mail. After we finalize our review of your file, we will e-mail you your award letter. Applications are reviewed between May and June for all returning students. All award letters are e-mailed by June 30th to the student's Oxy e-mail address and the parent e-mail address (as provided on the FAFSA).
