Come see what the MUS 257 students have been up to this semester. This concert will feature premieres of new, original works for voice and piano by Judith Battles, William Black, Nina Marguglio, Brandon Markson, Olivia Oosterhout, Raiah Rofsky, Alex Twomey, and Gabriella Wayne, performed by Oxy faculty members Karen Hogle Brown and Junko Ueno Garrett.

In addition to practicing secular rumba drumming, students in the Afro-Cuban Drumming Ensemble study the sacred rhythms of Santería and learn to sing the songs of the Orishas in the Yoruba dialect of Lucumi. Come hear the culmination of their work at this free, public performance!

The program will last about an hour with no intermission.
