The Fall 2026 Biology Seminar Series continues with a talk from Dr. Le Sun, "From Drug Targets to Protein Modifications: Chemical Proteomics for Decoding Protein Regulation." Dr. Sun is a postdoctoral researcher at Scripps Research.

The seminar is on Tuesday, October 20th, at 12:00pm.

Proteins are regulated through diverse mechanisms that shape their functions in health and disease. In this talk, I will discuss how chemical proteomics and mass spectrometry can uncover these regulatory mechanisms. I will highlight our discovery of unexpected protein targets of rapamycin and our recent work on how an N-terminal protein modification regulates CFTR. Together, these studies demonstrate how proteomics can reveal new mechanisms of protein regulation and disease.
