Oxy has no shortage of opportunities to try new things, explore your passions, and meet new people. Join student government or one of our many other student clubs, play an intramural sport, or take part in community service.
In terms of life on campus, there’s a three-year campus residency requirement, though most students stay for four. Our 13 residence halls plus themed and multicultural housing options help make the experience uniquely yours.
Between Marketplace, the Tiger Cooler, and the student-run Green Bean coffee shop, it’s easy to find what you’re looking for at any given moment.
Beyond campus life, the surrounding Eagle Rock and Highland Park neighborhoods are full of food trucks, record stores, and art galleries. You can also bike through the arts district downtown, eat your way through Koreatown, or feel the ocean breezes in Venice. Need transportation? We’ve got you.
Getting involved at Oxy feels easy and natural. There’s always something happening on campus, whether it’s a club event, arts and crafts in the quad, or even animal therapy days...opportunities to connect are just part of everyday life here. It's easy to find people with shared interests and feel like you’re part of the larger community.
Just one block south of Occidental College's campus, you'll find yourself in the vibrant neighborhood of Highland Park. Join three Occidental students as they show us around York Blvd. and Figueroa St. in Northeast LA.
