Exceptional Oxy graduates have been elected to membership in the Delta of California Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honors organization.
Below, meet just a few seniors from this year’s impressive cohort, featuring accolades from their professors.
Jasmine Chhabria
Politics, economics
After a summer of travelling and recharging, I will be moving back to L.A. in September to join Capital Group as an Investment Operations Rotational Associate. I hope to attend law school in the near future, driven by a long-term vision of practicing antitrust law, giving back through pro bono legal service, and one day teaching. Reflecting on my amazing four years at Oxy, I most value the tight-knit community I have built inside and outside the classroom.
Jazzy is an extraordinary scholar who completed not one but two honors theses, including an economics thesis on women in leadership, and won top academic awards in both economics and politics. She lives her research too, leading WOE as president and serving as a fellow and social media manager for the Writing Center. Jazzy's intellectual firepower and compassionate leadership will make her an incredible force after Oxy!

Tylor Lee
Biochemistry
After graduation, I plan to pursue work in biomedical engineering and health policy, with a focus on the intersections of microbiology, public health, and medicine. I ultimately hope to earn an MD or MD/PhD and specialize in infectious diseases. What I value most about my time at Oxy is the invaluable mentorship that I have received, especially from faculty in the biology and chemistry departments. Their curiosity and passion have profoundly shaped my academic path and inspired my own commitment to research and medicine.
Tylor has a curious mind and a deep drive to understand the world around him. From early morning and weekend lab work, to asking class and labmates tough questions, to studying on a cross-country flight, to late night lab reports, Tylor’s mind doesn’t stop. He willingly shares his knowledge and experience as a peer mentor, TA, labmate and friend. For all of these reasons, he is a “cool kid.”

Ella Louise Alpert
Media Arts & Culture
While I’ll remember many things from my time at Oxy fondly, it’s the proactive, creative collaboration between the students in the MAC department I’ll recollect best. Developing our short films together was some of the most expansive and joyous work I’ve ever experienced. Looking ahead, I hope to continue building my portfolio across smaller projects as a director and cinematographer. I’m currently developing another short film and working on music video projects, while also seeking opportunities to grow my on-set experience as a production assistant.
Lou is a true intellect and an extraordinarily talented media maker who brings together cultural questioning, conceptual innovation, and aesthetic audacity in surprising and impactful ways. Can't wait to follow future endeavors and projects, Lou. Congratulations.

Logan Morris
Biology
I will be working with the National Student Leadership Conference this summer in their Environmental Science and Sustainability program. I plan to take some time to gain hands-on research and field experience before applying to Ph.D. programs in environmental microbiology. What I will definitely value most about my time at Oxy is the sense of community and the relationships I built with both faculty and peers. Through work in the biology department and collaborative research experiences, I developed meaningful connections that challenged and supported me, and I know those relationships will continue to shape both my personal and professional life.
Whether in the science lab, on the soccer field, or on stage in Thorne Hall, Logan brings energy, humor, and an infectious laugh. Completing her honors thesis in biology is one of the many ways her dedication and curiosity were reflected. She has been a positive, uplifting member of our community, and we wish her the very best in all that comes next.

Graham Luethe
Urban & Environmental Policy
I value most the faculty relationships I have built at Oxy. From research to sustainability initiatives and projects on campus, I have been encouraged to step up and to make change wherever possible. Next up in life, I hope to travel a bit before beginning a career that addresses the crucial green infrastructure in a changing climate.
Graham is a deep thinker and a creative doer. Not only did he spearhead native gardens at Oxy, but his senior comprehensive project—which earned distinction and honors—is already influencing the way practitioners protect both humans and plants in the wake of climate-related disasters. I will miss his thoughtful intellect, sharp wit, and infectious enthusiasm—but I can’t wait to watch him make the world a greener, more joyful, place to be.

Jacqueline Pichardo
Cognitive science, group language
As a first-generation college student, I am extremely grateful for all of the support I have received at Oxy. The relationships I have built with professors, advisors, and friends have shaped my experience over the past four years, guiding me as I explored my interests in cognitive science and linguistics, pursued research opportunities, and made many memories along the way. I also had the privilege of working closely with my Latinx community as a coordinator for the student-led Comparte program. These experiences and the connections I have formed during my time at Oxy will continue to guide me as I pursue a master’s in Speech Language Pathology and contribute to the growing representation of Latinas in higher education!
Jacqui’s maturity, professionalism, and academic excellence are exceptional. She combines humility with intellectual rigor, seeking feedback while also pursuing independent inquiry. Jacqui carried out original qualitative research in Summer 2025 with remarkable independence, proposing new directions, seeking feedback, and delivering work of exceptional quality. Jacqui’s intellectual curiosity, consistent follow-through, and collaborative spirit distinguish her as a lifetime learner and leader.

Eli Saliman
Economics
After graduation, I will be working as an economic consultant at Resolution Economics in Los Angeles for several years before going to law school. My experience at Oxy has been made truly special by my peers and professors in every class, and the wide breadth of subjects which I have been able to study. From art history to computer science, I have been continually challenged by my professors, and in doing so have built a wonderful network of peers and friends, whom I remain continually grateful for.
Eli is an exceptionally capable person. He has been a joy to teach—supportive of fellow students, extremely responsible, and excited to master the hardest material. His work on his honors thesis was especially notable—he pushed hard on data problems, thought deeply about the conceptual challenges underlying his work, and produced excellent economics research.

Lily Snyder
Diplomacy & World Affairs
I plan to attend the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, where I will pursue a two-year master’s degree in international relations. After graduate school, I hope to spend a few years serving in the Peace Corps before ultimately pursuing a career with the State Department. I am incredibly grateful to Occidental for all that it has taught me. The relationships I have built with professors both within and beyond the DWA department, the opportunities I have had to grow inside and outside the classroom and on the frisbee field, and the friendships I have made have all had a profound impact on me. I am so thankful for the experiences, lessons, and connections I will carry with me as I leave Los Angeles.
Lily Snyder is a perfectionist in the very best sense. While many focus on being the best, Lily has the foresight to focus on simply doing better. In taking that path, she epitomizes the type of student every professor wishes to see in their classroom. She’s sharp, witty, and kind, making every conversation I’ve had with her a pleasure.
