Information about counseling and medical services available to Oxy students.
FOR STUDENTS RESIDING IN CALIFORNIA: Emmons counselors are able to provide ongoing telecounseling to students. We are currently providing sessions via phone, but video sessions will be available by the end of the week. Most students will be able to have telecounseling sessions on a weekly basis for the rest of the semester. To schedule, please contact Emmons at 323.259.2657.
FOR ALL STUDENTS: Emmons counselors are offering virtual walk-ins every day (Monday-Friday) from 9 am-12 pm and 1-4 pm (PST). During virtual walk-ins we offer telephone-based brief counseling and crisis management. Please call Emmons at 323.359.2657 to get connected to the virtual walk-in counselor.
Please note that at this time, state licensing laws prevent us from offering weekly counseling to students outside of California, but we can offer "crisis" walk-ins to those students. That means that students in any state may call for a walk-in meeting as often as they like.
24/7 HOTLINES: May be accessed by any student, anywhere

Emmons medical providers are available to all students Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm via in-person and Zoom telehealth consultation. Students wishing to see a medical provider should call the front desk at 323.259.2657 to be put on a medical provider’s schedule.
Medical providers can provide a wide variety of consultative medical services via telemedicine. Through a comprehensive assessment of symptoms and complaints, medical providers can provide limited diagnosing and treatment, including writing and sending prescriptions to the student’s home pharmacy.
Those who come to Emmons for drop-in services will be screened at the front door for fever and cold/flu symptoms before entering the clinic. Please understand that in an effort to practice social distancing and reduce the spread of germs during this highly alert time, we would prefer if students called before coming to Emmons to avoid numerous people from being in the waiting room.
