For visitors who are sensitive to fragrances, please note this event will include a scent component. 

Join us for an incense presentation accompanied by a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Olfactory artist Persephenie will walk us through the history and tradition of incense, considering the various uses, practices and types with emphasis on the craft and materials of incense making, with historical references and folklore.

Nesanet Teshager Abegaze will facilitate an Ethiopian coffee ceremony, a traditional practice that provides opportunity for community members to gather, share conversation, hospitality, and spiritual practices.

Persephenie’s incense is featured in the exhibition, Kenturah Davis: Dark Illumination.

Event is open house format - join us anytime between 6-8pm.
