A painting workshop inspired by the Waning Crescent exhibition.
OXY ARTS, 4757 York Blvd. LA CA 90042
Join us for the 1st workshop of a 2-part free art-making workshop series. In the series, we will be creating projects inspired by our current exhibition, Waning Crescent: a meztli projects group show, curated by metzli projects. The exhibition showcases the work of Native and Indigenous artists who are supported by, and engaged in, the collaborative ecosystem of meztli projects. Created between 2024 and today, the exhibited work signifies the artists’ creative growth as they enter new phases of making and being.
Workshop #1: Acrylic Painting on Found Ceramics
In this workshop, we will turn ceramic tiles into painting surfaces. Discarded from kitchen and backyard projects, these tiles present a sustainable way to make art. In addition to reducing waste, the shapes and textures of the tiles make beautiful, surprising paintings with a sculptural quality. Let’s turn trash into treasure!
This is part of a FREE event series and all supplies are provided by OXY ARTS. No registration required.
