Event Date: Oct. 11, 2025

OXY ARTS, 4757 York Blvd. LA CA 90042

Join us for the 2nd workshop of a 3-part free art-making workshop series. In the series, we will be creating projects inspired by our current exhibition, Flesh of the Forest, curated by Tiffany E. Barber. The exhibition features nine contemporary artists from the African diaspora who engage with the forest as a rich, multilayered site of history, memory, sensation, and feeling through sculpture, painting, film, and installation.

Workshop #2: Mosaic with Recycled Materials

In this workshop, we will use scraps of discarded glass and ceramics to create mosaics. Participants will learn how to safely break 3D ceramics into small fragments to be arranged into unique images and designs. Using grout, we will turn our designs into strong, lasting pieces of art.

There is no registration required for this event, but participants will be seated on a first come, first-serve basis, so please arrive on time to ensure a spot!

This is part of a FREE event series and all supplies are provided by OXY ARTS.

NOTE: All artists under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
This iteration of Making Space is facilitated by Blue Reinhard.

Stay tuned for our final Making Space workshop of the season!
