Event Date: Nov. 15, 2025

OXY ARTS, 4757 York Blvd. LA CA 90042

Join us for the 3rd workshop of a 3-part free art-making fall workshop series. In the series, we will be creating projects inspired by our current exhibition, Flesh of the Forest, curated by Tiffany E. Barber. The exhibition features nine contemporary artists from the African diaspora who engage with the forest as a rich, multilayered site of history, memory, sensation, and feeling through sculpture, painting, film, and installation.

Workshop #3: Terra Cotta Pots – Planting & Collaging

In this workshop, participants will decorate terra cotta pots with cut-outs from magazines, newspapers, and custom-printed images to create three-dimensional collages. After completing your collage, you’ll plant native succulents or seeds in your personalized pot to combine creativity with sustainability.

There is no registration required for this event, but participants will be seated on a first come, first-serve basis, so please arrive on time to ensure a spot! This is an all-ages event, but participants under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian.

This is part of a FREE event series and all supplies are provided by OXY ARTS.

This iteration of Making Space is facilitated by Blue Reinhard.
