What is ISP?
Alana Murphy is a housing staff attorney at Mobilization for Justice in the Bronx, NY. Alana graduated from Oxy in 2013 with a degree in Politics and received her J.D. from U.C. Davis School of Law. Alana’s practice is centered on preserving housing and tenancies for low-income communities in The Bronx. She defends tenants in eviction proceedings, and also litigates housing conditions cases against landlords.

Inspired and informed by the President’s own experience at Occidental, the Obama Scholars Program provides exceptional students from all backgrounds with a carefully crafted set of curated experiences to help propel them toward leadership and impact for the public good to create lasting and meaningful change.
Join us to learn more about the Boren Scholarship Program, which provides funding for undergraduate study abroad programs to study less commonly taught languages in world regions deemed critical to U.S. security, including Africa, Asia, Central and European Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Funding recipients agree to work for the federal government after graduation for one year in an area related to national security.

Carter Norfleet is a former Oxy student and an associate in the Los Angeles office of K&L Gates LLP. While at Oxy, Carter focused his studies on politics and the law. He enjoys mentoring students and is happy to make himself available as a resource to Oxy students thinking about law school and a legal career.
